The owned-lab difference

Why Ours Costs Less

Most dental clinics send your impression to an outside laboratory that mills the crown, charges the clinic, and the clinic adds its own margin on top. We own our lab, so that middle layer is gone: the crown is milled from the same certified medical grade zirconium dioxide the expensive clinics use, in our own building, at one cost instead of two. The material and the process are identical. The only thing removed from the price is a third party's profit.

The material

What a Zirconia Crown Is

A crown is a cap that covers a damaged, weak or discoloured tooth, restoring its shape, strength and appearance. Zirconia is the material the cap is made from, and it has become the standard choice for good reasons.

It is strong.

Zirconia withstands the force of biting and chewing better than porcelain, which makes it suitable for back teeth as well as front.

It looks like a tooth.

Modern zirconia is translucent enough to pass for natural enamel, unlike the older metal based crowns with their grey line at the gum.

It is biocompatible.

It contains no metal, so there is no dark margin, no metallic taste and no reaction for patients sensitive to metal.

It lasts.

A well made, well maintained zirconia crown lasts many years, commonly ten to fifteen and often longer.

Indications

When You Need a Crown

A Root Canal Treated Tooth

A tooth that has had root canal treatment becomes brittle and usually needs a crown to protect it from fracturing. This is the most common reason we place them.

A Broken, Cracked or Heavily Filled Tooth

Where too much tooth structure is missing for a filling to hold, a crown restores the whole tooth.

A Discoloured or Misshapen Tooth

Where a single tooth spoils a smile, a crown corrects its colour and shape. For several front teeth at once, veneers are often the better route, and we will tell you which suits you.

On Top of a Dental Implant

A dental implant replaces the root of a missing tooth, and a zirconia crown sits on top of it as the visible tooth.

As Part of a Bridge

A dental bridge uses crowns on the teeth either side of a gap to carry a replacement tooth across it.

For most patients, most of the time, zirconia is the right answer for both front and back teeth. Emax has a slight edge on translucency for the very front teeth, which is why some smile makeovers combine the two, and we will recommend that combination only where it genuinely matters.

From impression to bonded crown

How We Make Your Crown

Your tooth is shaped under local anaesthesia and its impression taken, the crown is milled and shade matched in our own laboratory, then checked for fit and bite and permanently bonded. The process is painless and standard everywhere.

What is not standard is where the milling happens. Because our lab is in the same building rather than in another city, a straightforward single crown can often be completed in a single day, instead of the week or two an external lab takes. Multiple crowns and cases needing a root canal first take longer, and we give you the exact timeline at your consultation.

  1. Shape & impression

The tooth is prepared under local anaesthesia and its impression taken. Painless throughout.

  2. Milled & shade matched

In our own laboratory, in the same building on University Road — not in another city.

  3. Fit & bite checked

The crown is tried in and adjusted until it fits and bites like your own tooth.

  4. Permanently bonded

Sealed and finished, with care instructions identical to a natural tooth's.

Same-day option: because milling happens on site, a straightforward single crown can often be prepared and fitted in one visit instead of the week or two an external lab takes.

Patient Reviews

I was quoted PKR 40,000 a tooth elsewhere in Peshawar and needed six. Here they were 15,000 each, made in their own lab, and I could not tell the difference in the material when I asked. That is a difference of PKR 150,000 for the same treatment.

My front crown was done in a single day because they mill them on site. I walked in with a broken tooth in the morning and left with a matched crown that afternoon.

One of the best dental clinics in Peshawar for sure. The dentist Mr Danyal treated me with utmost respect and performed root canal on my molar. They are professional and know what they are doing

Frequently Asked Questions About Zirconia Crowns

Because we own the lab that makes it. Most clinics pay an external laboratory to mill the crown and then add their own margin on top. We mill yours ourselves in the same building, so there is one cost instead of two. The material and the process are the same as anywhere else. The saving is a business that is no longer in the middle.
